Welcome!
Welcome to our website for our study on Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (SCAR). We are a research group affiliated with the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Division of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
The goal of this study is to learn more about who is at increased risk for SCARs in the United States and to study the immediate and long-term consequences of SCARs on health and quality of life. By collecting and analyzing this information about SCARs, we hope to improve our existing knowledge of these rare but severe reactions. Identifying the drug and patient-specific factors that can lead to SCARs will promote safe drug prescribing. Safer drug prescribing will reduce the occurrence of SCARs and improve the safety and quality of care.
